Green Beans with Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb. green beans
  • 1 T olive oil
  • 2 small garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 t chopped fresh basil
  • 1/2 t salt
  • Dash of Tabasco
  • 1 c sliced mushrooms
  • Dry white vermouth (optional)

Directions

  1. Trim the ends of beans and place in a steamer over an inch of water. Cover and cook for 10 to 15 minutes until bright green and tender.

  2. Place oil in pan. Saute oil, garlic, salt, & tabasco for minute or two. Add mushrooms and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, for 4 to 5 minutes, or until mushrooms just begin to release their liquid. Add dash of vermouth or wine if using.

  3. Add beans and stir well.
