Walnuttoes

Ingredients

  • 1- 12 oz bag chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 c flour
  • 2 c finely chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 c additional white sugar, in a small bowl

Directions

  1. Melt chocolate chips with butter. (Microwave on high for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth) Stir in sugar and let cool.

  2. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in vanilla, baking powder and salt. Stir in flour and mix well, then add nuts. Chill dough for at least 4 hours.

  3. Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Coat each one with white sugar.

  4. Place on a greased cookie sheet and flatten lightly with a spatula.

  5. Bake in a preheated 350F oven for 12 – 14 minutes. Let cool on cookie sheet for one minute, them remove to a wire rack. (if you leave them on the cookie sheet too long, the cookies will stick)
