Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2-1/4 + 2 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 sups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375*F

  2. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl; set aside

  3. Beat butter, sugars, and vanilla in a large bowl until smooth and creamy

  4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition

  5. Gradually beat in flour mixture

  6. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (if using) by hand

  7. Drop rounded tablespoons full onto ungreased baking sheets

  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes until golden brown

  9. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely
