beef and bow casserole

Ingredients

  • one lb lean ground beef
  • 2 TBS cooking oil
  • 1/4 Cup onion, chopped
  • 1lb 12 oz can tomatoes, reserve 1/4 liquid
  • 1/2 Cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 bayleaf
  • 2 TBS cornstarch
  • 3 C cooked bows, drained
  • bread crumbs

Directions

  1. Saute onion in cooking oil until limp.

  2. add beef and brown thoroughly.

  3. add tomatoes , corn syrup and seasoning. bring to a biol. Cover and simmer 15 min.

  4. Mix corn starch with reserved tomato liquid. Add to pan and bring to a boil stirring constantly until thickened.

  5. add bows. Mix well and turn into a 2 qt casserole. Sprinkle top with bread crumbs.
  6. Bake at 350 for 30 min
