Vegan caramel

(from Joanna’s recipe box)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3TBS oat milk
  • 2TBS refined coconut oil (was three but wasn't emulsifying with so much/ maybe I wasn't measuring well enough)
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Melt the sugar on the stovetop. Stir it so it doesn’t burn.

  2. Once melted and golden brown slowly add oat milk and whisk it in.

  3. add the coconut oil and mix it in. Also add the salt. It should be emulsified and look like caramel.

  4. Let it cool.
