Waffles

(from cokerlj’s recipe box)

Recipe came from a very old Fannie Farmer cook book that my mother had from the 1930’s. The only way to make waffles!

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup flour sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 egg whites stiffly beaten
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 egg yolks beaten
  • 1/2 cup oil

Directions

  1. NOTE: I do not use a Belgin Waffle Iron…I am not sure it would work well as a Belgin Waffle?

  2. TIP: If batter is too thick, and it usually is, add a little more milk. Spray your waffle iron before putting in your first batch with “Pam”.

  3. Sift dry ingredients, stir in egg yolks, milk and oil.

  4. Fold in egg whites.

  5. Spoon into waffle iron. Cook until a golden brown and crisp.
