Bacon Cheeseburger

Ingredients

  • 4 oz 96% lean ground beef
  • 1 1/5 tablespoons reduced-fat real bacon pieces
  • 1 tsp. dried minced onion
  • salt, to taste
  • 1 whole-wheat hamburger bun (3 1/2 in. dia.)
  • 1/2 oz light swiss cheese slivers
  • Toppings: lettuce, plum tomato, ketchup or BBQ sauce

Directions

  1. Preheat grill to high.

  2. In a small bowl, mix the beef, bacon and onion until well combined. Shape the meat into a patty about 1/2 in larger than the bun. Lightly sprinkle both sides of the patty with salt. Grill the burger 1 to 2 min. each side or until done. (Do not smash with a spatula.) Add the cheese to the top and let melt for a few seconds.

  3. Place the patty on buns and add desired toppings.
