Another Spaghetti Pie

Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 2 tbs butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs-beaten
  • 1/2 c grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 pound ground round
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
  • 8 oz diced tomatoes
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Cook spaghetti according to package directions omitting salt and fat; drain and place in bowl.

  3. Add butter, eggs, and parmesan cheese; mix well.

  4. Spread over bottom and up sides of a greased 10" deep dish pie plate.

  5. Spoon cottage cheese in “crust”, set aside.

  6. In a skillet, brown ground round, onion, and red pepper until beef is brown; drain. Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic salt. Spoon over the cottage cheese mixture.

  7. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

  8. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, return to oven for 5 minutes or until cheese melts. Cut into wedges
