Spanish Rice

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound bacon (about 8 slices) cut into 3/4-inch pieces
  • 1/2 pound hamburger
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups minute rice
  • 1 can (15 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce

Directions

  1. Fry bacon in 10” skillet until partially cooked. Drain grease.

  2. Add hamburger and onion to bacon and cook in skillet until hamburger is light brown; drain.

  3. Stir in remaining ingredients.

  4. Put in a 7 × 11” baking dish and bake in 350° oven about 25 minutes.
