Tuna Fish Salad

(from cokerlj’s recipe box)

My family loves this with the apples. Serve as a sandwich or with crackers.

Ingredients

  • 1 large can oil packed tuna fish
  • 1 stalk celery (or more) finely diced
  • 3 hard boiled eggs chopped
  • 1 golden delicious apple peeled & finely diced
  • 2 teaspoons sweet relish
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1/3 cup Hellmans mayonnaise
  • salt to taste

Directions

  1. Place tuna in fine strainer and rinse under cold running water to wash off oils. (you are wondering why not just buy tuna packed in water…well the oil gives the tuna just that added touch of flavor)

  2. Drain and gently squeeze out excess water.

  3. The amounts of ingredients listed above are approximate. Use as little or as much of each as you want. You may want more relish and less apple (one apple for one can tuna is a little too much). Also you may need to adjust amount of mayonnaise.
