Glorified Pumpkin Pie

  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup pumpkin (you can use canned unseasoned pumpkin, but they recommend using freshly cooked pie pumpkin)
  • 1 envelope Dream Whip, dessert topping mix
  • 1 package unflavored gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 1/2 cup nuts, chopped
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • Cloves to taste
  • Just a tiny smidgen of nutmeg or allspice
  • 1 baked pie shell
  • Cool whip if desired.


  1. Pre-bake and cool pie crust.

  2. Beat eggs, add sugar while beating a little at a time.

  3. Combine egg/sugar mixture with spices and pumpkin.

  4. Cook for 15 minutes in double boiler.

  5. Add gelatin that has been dissolved in 2 tablespoons cold water.

  6. Chill in refrigerator.

  7. Whip dessert topping/Dream Whip according to package instructions. Fold into chilled pumpkin mixture.

  8. Pour into pie shell. Arrange a few nuts/pecans around the edge of the pie for decoration.

  9. Chill over night. Serve with a dollop of Cool Whip if desired.
