Mexican Crema 3 Ways

Ingredients

  • Regular Crema:
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • -
  • Lime-Cilantro Crema:
  • 1 recipe "Regular Crema"
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon finely minced cilantro (optional)

  • Tangerine-Cilantro Crema:
  • 1 recipe "Regular Crema"
  • 1 teaspoon Tangerine zest
  • 1 tablespoon Tangerine juice
  • 1 teaspoon finely minced cilantro (optional)

Directions

  1. Regular Crema: Whisk together all ingredients. Allow to sit for 2 hours at room temperature…then chill.

  2. Lime-Cilantro Crema and/or Tangerine-Cilantro Crema: Follow instructions for “Regular Crema”. Then whisk in the rest of ingredients. If mixture is too thick add a little additional heavy cream to thin. Cilantro can be optional in each of these.
