Chicken Cheese Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 deep dish pie crust
  • 1 1/2 C dry macaroni (your choice of pasta/noodles) cooked & drained
  • 1/2 C shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 C shredded smoked Gruyere
  • 1 5oz can evaporated milk
  • 1/4 C water
  • 1 1/2 C chopped cooked chicken or 2 cans tuna, drained or 12.5 oz can chicken
  • 1 4oz jar pimento, drained
  • 1/4 t garlic powder
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 10-15 drops of favorite hot sauce
  • Paprika for garnish

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. Add to hot drained noodles in medium saucepan: cheese, milk, water, meat, pimento, garlic powder, hot sauce and then stir.

  3. Check for salt and pepper

  4. Prepare pie plate with the pie crust.

  5. Pour the noodle mixture in the pie crust shell and sprinkle with paprika.

  6. Bake in 400 degree oven for about 30 minutes, covering with greased foil during last 10 minutes to prevent over browning.

  7. Allow to set for about 15 minutes before cutting and serving.
