Ingredients

  • 2 bone in THICK pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 Tablespoons minced garlic
  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 3 heaping Tablespoons brown sugar
  • Fresh parsley chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Season pork chops with salt and pepper.

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a oven safe skillet (like cast iron or enameled cast iron) on medium high heat. Sear the pork chops for 3 minutes on each side. Remove and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to low and add butter…once your skillet cools down a little…add garlic, brown sugar, red pepper, and whisk until combined, simmer 2-3 minutes. Add pork chops back into the pan and coat with sauce. I added my garlic way too soon and it almost burned.

  4. Place oven safe skillet in the oven and bake 8-10 minutes or until internal temperature of pork chops reaches 145 F.

  5. Remove pork chops and let rest 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve.
