- oil
- eggs
- pepperoni
- browned sausage
- shredded mozzarella cheese
This sauce can be used for almost anything that requires a tomato sauce: spaghetti, lasagna, stuffed shells, baked ziti, etc. You could make spaghetti one night, and then dress up the sauce with some meat, brown sugar or molasses, mustard, green pepper, etc. to make sloppy joes the next.
NOTE: I always add ground beef to this recipe.
- Olive Oil
- minced garlic
- crushed tomatoes with puree
- dried parsley
- dried basil
- dried oregano
- salt
- black pepper
*Variation – Instead of making a white sauce, you use a can of cream of mushroom or cream of celery soup. Add 1/2 can milk to soup, instead of the usual 1 can. Then stir in the tuna and heat through.
