This dessert is very popular at Neiman Marcus…they won’t give out the recipe…but after experimenting, the home economists at Lone Star Gas Company where I worked in the 1970’s came up with this very good copy!!

My own invention…it is delicious!

This is probably the very best carrot cake around, the pineapple makes it so moist as does the filling between layers.

To me, most Italian Cream Cakes are dry…this one is very moist. My husbands request for his birthday cake!

A tart jelly like plum preserves is the best!

I guess many of the old time Czech’s would scoff at using a cake mix…but with the addition of the vanilla pudding it is such a moist cake!

This is the old original, accept no substitutes. Most people put cream cheese icing on it…this icing recipe is the original icing…totally different than cream cheese and so much better.

You can use my pie recipe or you can use your own pie recipe…just follow the part about adding the cranberries.

Saw the picture of this at the grocery check-out on a Southern Living magazine…had to buy the magazine. Lots of steps, but so worth it!
